Rayzor’s Reviews: Assassin’s Creed: Rogue

s_Creed_RogueAfter spending most of the he life of the Xbox 360 playing Assassin’s Creed games, it was an easy call picking up the newest 360 Assassin’s Creed game, Rogue.  I also a review of the series last year or earlier this year,Rayzor’s Reflections: Assassin’s Creed Franchise Rayzor’s Reflections: Assassin’s Creed Franchise.

About 25 percent into the main story and a good 15 hours of game play, it is time for a little assessment.  This may be the most generous, maybe fair as most reviews I have read or watched have been kinda harsh to the last installment for the past gen, where it all started.  Maybe I just look at things differently from your average review site, who sometimes seem to be there to pick games apart and sometimes make you wonder, do these people even like video games?  I am a real person, so I hope this helps.

Rogue seems like it is tying up loose ends from AC III and Black Flag and to me it is the third in the America’s trilogy.  The seventh game in the series on the 360, it really seems to bring back everything we all loved about the previous games.  It is great, Assassin’s Creed, the original was a big step, but I feel Ubisoft learned from its mistakes.  After we got 6 terrific games that can be summed up as separate trilogy’s, the Ezio trilogy AC II, Brotherhood, Revelations and the America’s trilogy III, Black Flag and Rogue. Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor: Open-World Lord of the Rings Prequel?

Shadows of MordorI found this the other day just searching through my usual channels.  It is being developed by the same developers that brought us F.E.A.R. , Condemned: Criminal Origins and the terrible Guardians of Middle-earth developer Monolith Productions and produced by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that they’re making a new open-world action game called Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Shadow is a brand-new story set between the events of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Continue reading “Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor: Open-World Lord of the Rings Prequel?”

Rayzor’s Review: Tomb Raider

pctomb-raiderfob-largejpg-fcdd98-e1351037410788I have not played a Tomb Raider game since, the 1990’s.  But I read some online reviews and watched the review from www.gametrailers.com and a friend raved about it, so I decided to give it a shot.  Most of my experience with Lara Croft has been with the awful Angelina Jolie films. Rayzor’s Top 10 Favorite Video Games

This is my list, my favorite games of all time.  Everyone is different and loved different games for different reasons.   Just becuase these games are my top favorite, does not mean these are the best games ever.  I say this because I do not play some games that most say are great, Call of Duty, Bioshock, Portal, Dead Space, Borderlands, Halo and many other games.  Some games I have tried and just cannot play, I will make an excuse, with first person shooters, I get a little dizzy and feel pretty bad after playing. I have tried glasses and it did not work, so they are off limits.  Dead Space I just could not get in to at all.  Of course this does not mean I think these games are bad, if they were bad everyone on my friends list on Xbox Live would not be playing them. Resident Evil 6 Demo

Finally we get to check out the demo for the new Resident Evil 6 game due out October 2, 2012.  The demo was actually released a few days ago, September 18th, but I finally got around to play it this morning.  First, I just want to say how excited I am about this games release.  I remember the wait between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 to come out.  I believe it was 6 years bewtween games, this is just a little over 3 years.  Either way,  I am excited to play the newest installment of one of my favorite video game franchises. RayZor’s Reviews: Madden 13

The newest version of Madden came out today and of course many people bought the game.  Let me ask aquestion, what happens if the game is different from last years game?  What if it is so different it isn’t better or just simply worse?  Well I rented the game today rather than drop $60.  Sometimes, it is better to just rent games if you have a local place to do so, I have run into a situation many times that I spent the money on a game and absolutly hated it, after thinking it would be great.  It has gotten to the point, for me, that I cannot even trust demos.

Madden 13, the cover athlete is Calvin Johnson of the Detriot Lions.  It is interesting, I am watching Transformers while I write this and his nickname is Megatron and it is also the leader of the Decepticons.  The way I am going to review this, well I am going to break down my thoughts into a pros and cons list.  After reading about the improvements made to the game, I honestly don’t see the difference.  I did get the chance to play five or six game before I started writing.  I played on each level of difficulty and with different teams. Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut Announced

June 22nd, yesterday BioWare has announced that the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut will be available as a free download for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on June 26th.  The Extended Cut was announced back in April in response to widespread controversy over the ending of Mass Effect 3.  I did an article about this in April Rayzor’s Reflections – Mass Effect 3’s Ending.

According to www.masseffect.com , the extended cut “will expand upon the events at the end of Mass Effect 3 through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes” and will “include deeper insight to Commander Shepard’s journey based on player choices during the war against the Reapers.” Continue reading “Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut Announced”

Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead has gone from comic book to television series and now a video game.  Just like the comic and show the video game is episodic.

The game was developed and produced by Telltale Games and released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Mac OS X and iOS and the first of five episodes was released on April 25th 2012. Continue reading “Rayzor’s Reviews: The Walking Dead Video Game”

Rayzor’s Reflections – Mass Effect 3’s Ending

DISCLAIMER – This article may contain SPOILERS for Mass Effect 3…You have been WARNED!!!

Mass Effect 3

March 6, 2012 – The wait was over.  All Mass Effect fans would be unavailable for days, at least 40+ hours.  The trilogy was finally complete and we all turned on our Xbox 360s and PS3s to play the role of Commander Sheppard one last time.  Well, that was my mindset going in, and that may have put me in the minority.
