X-Men Show in Development at Fox?

xmen-1-recoloredThis is supremely interesting, if you ask me it is a ballsy move and yet a smart move for Fox.  Recently there has been a lot of talk about Sony losing Spider-man, too much talk.  Everyone wants to get the Marvel under one studio, I am there too, but I have no issue with the X-men being separate.  In reading a lot of X-men comics and Marvel in general and with the exception of Wolverine, there are not too many crossovers.  There are huge events, like House of M or Civil War and well Avengers vs X-men oh and of course Avengers Age of Ultron has Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver in the film. Updated List of Comic Book Hero Films thru 2020

It is a long road ahead, but baring any announcements coming, it looks like we have a full plate ahead for the next 6 years.  I count 32 films total and it is amazing some of the films that are coming our way.  If we go back 10 or 15 years ago, we would have never expected this coming, not to mention the films that are behind us.  When we do the Top 50 Superhero Films of All-Time in 2020, we may have to expand to 100. Nightfall Unlimited’s Top 50 Superhero Films

Throughout July we did the countdown, so here we have the complete list.  I would love to know where these films rank on everyone else’s lists.  We actually broke down the films into categories and combined out scores to come up with the order.  Also, if I had to add Guardians of the Galaxy to this list, Green Hornet would fall off the list and I would place Guardians of the Galaxy around number 18 or 19. So here is the complete list.

Rayzor’s Top 50 Superhero Films: 2014 Edition (50 – 41)

top50part1

Well these films were too good to put on the worst list and not good enough to be a part of the top…40, I guess.  I could sit here and explain each film, but to hell with it, you like visual, so here is visual.

I will say something, Daredevil, while it may not be the best superhero film, I like it and it is a shame it is not higher on the list.  Check out the directors cut, it is a little better. Continue reading “Rayzor’s Top 50 Superhero Films: 2014 Edition (50 – 41)”

X-Men Film Franchise – Which is the best film?

x_men_days_of_future_past_banner-wideAfter doing the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is the best, I wanted to do another, so here we are.  X-men Days of Future Past is coming out tomorrow and before I see it, it feels right to do this.  This one is not a obvious as the last.

People who have seen the film have already called it the best X-men film and just as good or better than the Avengers, we will see, will I will for sure.  Before I go any further, I just want to mention how excited to see this film and what happens.  When X-men First Class was announced I thought it was a complete reboot, but I was wrong.  In my opinion, this makes it more like a comic in ways, they can get rid of the old timeline with this film and recast everyone and have better films.  Most are hoping this cancels out X3, a film that I have forgiven.  So bring on Days of Future Past.  One last thing, I am excited to know this will lead into a sequel, rather than waiting and trying to figure out what will happen next…like the old days. Rayzor’s Review: The Wolverine

movies_the-wolverine-posterToday I saw The Wolverine.  While watching the film I began to think about the other films and how this one effects the other X-men films.  It takes place sometime after X-men: the Last Stand, which for the most part was terrible.  I am not going to lie, there are things about X3 I did like, the end with the final battle on Alcatraz Island was really cool, Wolverine running through the woods was cool and the Danger Room session.  But if you do not remember, they kill Cycolps at the beginning of the film then take Mystique’s powers and eventually kill off Professor X.  It seemed like it was the end.  I think that is why X-men: First Class was made as a reboot, but it is not.  So where are they going with the X-men film series, well it will be addressed in the coming, X-men: Days of Future Past film which will be released May 23rd, 2014.  Spoilers will follow. Rayzor’s Top 10 Best Superhero Films of All Time

1367300113_jelThis is the list I have been meaning to post for about a year now.  With the summer blockbuster season kicking off with the release of Iron Man 3 this week, it also marks the beginning of a big year in super hero films.  Starting with Iron Man 3 coming out this past weekend and soon we will finally get to see Superman in the Man of Steel June 14th, then The Wolverine July 26th,  Kick Ass 2 August 16 and Thor: The Dark World November 8th.  Personally I am looking forward to everyone of theses films, I may be in the minority about the Wolverine.  But for me it will be the Man of Steel I look forward to the most of all. Marvel Now! It’s Coming!

Marvel NOW! is a 2012 relaunch of several popular and new titles from Marvel Comics , scheduled to come out in October 2012 with new #1 issues.  One brand new title, Uncanny Avengers is also scheduled to debut with the launch of Marvel NOW!  Described as a shifting of the Marvel Universe following the conclusion of the Avengers vs. X-Men storyline, alot like Flashpoint did for DC Comics.  Marvel NOW! entails changes to both the publishing format and the fictional universe to attract new readers.  It proves to be interesting with new storylines, characters and shifts in the appereance of some characters.

I think this is great, more so than DC, Marvel Comics has become incredibly hard to follow.  If there is a big event, they like to have about 25 different tie-ins, or it seems.  I was not a big fan of the DC relaunch, but for non Marvel readers and Marvel readers who have jumped ship can reconnect with some of our favorites.  Continue reading “Marvel Now!
